It's 2005. I'm 20 years old.
I tried out lenses but I had this very itchy feeling in my right eye so I eventually stopped wearing them.
My optician at that time (specialised in contacts) did some tests and told me that my right eye doesn't completely close when I blink. So it might be that my right eye doesn't retain its tears as good as my left does.
I can't recall which contacts it were, but it was 2005, so I suppose they were regular gas permeable contact lenses.

Update: I now wear silicone hydrogel contacts and have no issues with them.
